Nikki Sixx on the final days of Motley Crue - MusicRadar

"Given the lives enjoyed and endured by Sunset Strip hair metal veterans Mötley Crüe, it was always going to take something unusual to signal the demise of the band. We really didn’t see the Crüe ending their near 35-year career with a formally written contract though. But that’s exactly what they did at last month’s glitzy LA press conference, where they announced the Final Tour, a run of shows set to stretch from this summer up to the end of 2015. And, just to pre-empt all those questions about reunions, the band signed a cessation of touring agreement that forbids them from ever going back out on tour as Mötley Crüe.

Musicradar spoke to bass player/band leader Nikki Sixx about calling it a day, staying away and regrets..."

Mick Mars talks "The Final Tour" with ARTISTdirect!

"Mötley Crüe will spend the next two years on their Final Tour. They even signed a legally binding contract to prove that they mean business. They are going out on top. Do not expect any half-assed, three-fourths reunion tours in two or three years. We grabbed some time with guitarist Mick Mars to find out the skinny." Check out the full interview here!

Nikki Sixx Says Goodbye for Good: Inside the End of Motley Crue

"Last week, Motley Crüe called it quits.

After over 30 years of grinding guitars, wild stage shows and world-class debauchery, the Crüe — who made nine albums that sold a staggering 80 million copies — decided to end it all. Being the Crüe, though, they’re going out in style. The band —Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars — signed a legally binding Cessation of Touring Agreement in front of reporters that prohibits future, unauthorized performances, and prevents any of the four members from touring under the band name.

But before they go, there’s one last 72-city North American tour to complete, and they’ve enlisted veteran rocker Alice Cooper to open the band’s final string of shows.“When it comes to putting together a new show, we always push the envelope, and that’s part of Motley Crue’s legacy,” bandmember Nikki Sixx said." Motley Crue on "CBS This Morning" (full interview)!

Motley Crue band members take legal steps to plan tidy end to group's long run

"Rock fans are getting their first chance to buy their final tickets for Motley Crue. After more than three decades of head-banging, the group is calling it quits. But the end of an era in music also marks the beginning of a groundbreaking business move.

The music was jazz -- not rock 'n' roll -- but the so-called funeral the band threw for itself in Hollywood was also vintage Motley Crue. The guys who helped put the glam into rock announced they are hanging up their heavy metal." - CBS This Morning
